Seeds of Change Community Partners

Who are Seeds of Change Community Partners?

Seeds of Change community partners are groups of high school students who are interested in advancing the leadership and participation of girls and young women in STEM. The groups are formed from clubs, teams, groups of friends, or by individuals interested in participating without an existing group connection.  Community partner groups meet with Seeds of Change undergraduate Leaders regularly over the course of the academic year. During these meetings, the Leaders guide their community partner groups through an integrated leadership-based curriculum of mentoring, training, and skills development. Through traveling the curriculum together and sharing their experiences, the community partners gain insights into their own leadership and learn from others, and the Stanford undergraduate Leaders, who are just a few steps ahead of them, provide relatable and attainable mentoring relationships.

How can I be a Seeds of Change Community Partner?

  • High school students can apply to participate as a group of six to eight people. Groups might be a club, team, or even a group of friends.
  • High school students can also apply to participate as individuals. Accepted individuals will form a group of six to eight people.
  • High school student groups and individuals may apply to participate in-person (if located in the Bay Area) or virtually. Preference will be given to groups and individuals that can meet in-person.
