JoAnne Wehner is a sociologist and Research Associate for the Stanford VMware Innovation Lab. She designs, manages, and executes research projects at a variety of companies across Silicon Valley and beyond. Her work focuses on collaborating with leaders in companies to diagnose bias in their organizational structures and helping them design unique and research-based interventions for blocking unconscious bias. Her work played a critical role in developing the Lab’s “small wins” approach to change. Dr. Wehner has a PhD and MA in Sociology with a certificate in Socio-legal studies from the University of Washington. Her B.A. in Sociology is from the University of California, Davis.
